2nd April 2009 - AWARENESS FORUM ON THE ICDs AND CFSs

The Nigerian Shipper’s Council is organizing an awareness forum on the Dry Ports Project in Nigeria.
The theme of the forum is “Inland Container Depots/ Container Freight Station as Catalyst for Enhancing Hinterland Shipping and Economic Development”.

The Forum is slated to hold as follows:
Date: Thursday 2nd April 2009,
Time: 9:00 am.
Venue: Liyafa Palace Hotel, Katsina.

The objective of the forum among others is to:

 Create awareness for better appreciation of the value of the Inland Container Depot (ICD) Container Freight Station (CFS) Project
 Clearly define roles for various Stakeholders in the ICD and CFS Project.
 Discuss possible challenges that may impinge on the progress of the project and proffer solutions.
 Develop a blue print for a successful implementation of the Project.
 Bridge the communication that may have existed between the Stakeholders.

The Forum will feature paper presentations on topical issues that are critical to the ICD and CFS project. An Interactive session would be held to cross fertilize ideas for the success of the Project.
